World Photography Day is celebrated throughout the world on August 19th in celebration of art, science and glory of photography. It is on this day in 1839 that the French Government made the Daguerreotype photographic process, invented by Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce, "Royalty Free" to the entire world. Thanks to this gesture millions of memories are frozen into frames every day. Historic Moments have been preserved in vivid memory. Life can be revisited in pictures. Natural History is documented for future generations. And the list of uses is endless.
